What is JavaScript?

JavaScript is a scripting language most often used for client-side web development. It was the originating dialect of the ECMAScript standard. It is a dynamic language with first-class functions. JavaScript was influenced by many languages and was designed to look like Java, but be easier for non-programmers to work with.

Javascript relies on the client PC having the platform installed and enabled in their browser. Due to this fact, it is of the utmost importance that you ensure that you don’t rely on javascript and use the tags to ensure content is still delivered to the client in an alternative manor.

When javascript is used for error checking, ensure you use a server-side language such as PHP to check errors by both means.
